Words create worlds - choose the GREEN ones!

About speakGreen

speakGreen was initiated to increase our awareness for the magic of words and language and the choice we have:

Speaking red to continue the same narrative or speakingGreen to co-create an affirmative, generative language and future for everyone!

With the aim of building a comprehensive and inspiring speakGreen vocabulary, this initiative presents red words or terms and offers green alternatives.

Become Fluent in Green

Since speakGreen’s foundation in January 2014, so many insights, knowledge and experiences on the power and magic of language were gained, that it came natural to develop and offer sessions and a training to inform interested persons about speakGreen and to provide the space to experience and learn more about it.

speakGreen Book!

I want to support you in evolving the way you think about words, and share with you how to reframe and choose language that is hopeful, positive, inspiring - because that’s how you and I can change the world.

Move from feeling powerless to feeling powerful in every sphere of your life.

You deserve to be filled with confidence and passion to engage.

You deserve to know that your tiny words can have a huge impact, instantly.

  • "A must read book by practitioners and academics of the Appreciative Paradigm to understand the power and identity of the Appreciative Language and how to put it into practice when conducting an Appreciative Intervention. EXCELLENT VISUAL DESIGN of the book! Thank you Claudia!!!"

  • "I don't quite know where to begin with this review, but in short, this is a brilliant book. The author is clearly a deep and complex thinker and this is clear through the way this book is compiled (...) The visual presentation strengthens points, separates them out in a way more akin to poetry! The best way I can describe this would be a world-changing PhD thesis written for everybody to read, with a touch of beauty. It's a strange description, but this book is unusual, in a truly brilliant way. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can see it appearing under a few of my friend's Christmas trees this year!"

  • "I had the great privilege of being a pre-reader for Dr Claudia Gross' speakGreen book. She is truly masterful in her curiosity about how language impacts humans as we live, work and play alongside each other. Her innate awareness of and celebration of the different options available over the systemic and often unconsciously stifling words we are used to in this book is playful and collaborative.

It's an expansive insight into language and how we can do better to support ourselves and the people around us every day through more conscious use of words. And I love the imagery, it lifts and illustrates what is a very serious and important subject beautifully!

I look forward to what comes next in this series!"

  • "It is a very interesting book, focussing on a topic that is both obvious, when we think about it in passing, and yet very surprising, when we stop and contemplate on the words we casually hear, say, or write. (...) the power of words can be a key element in making a change in the world(s) and hopefully have better life(s). I recommend reading."

  • "The approach used by the author is extremely helpful for my work in the media digital literacy sector and focusing on younger audiences. The themes we use and this specific audience could use a refreshing vocabulary, a motivational, and positive tone as we address challenges we face. The book offers a myriad of examples on how to do this tactfully. My colleagues are waiting for me to finish the book, but I think I'll just have to buy them a few copies."

  • "This book is transformational! Since reading it, I am now so conscious of the words that I use, making sure that my words are green, replacing the red ones that used to be common in my conversations without realizing it. It is thought provoking and covers aspects that I took for granted. Thank you Claudia for transforming my world and words."
